June 18, 2021 - In the middle of the thunderstorm season

Actually, I just wanted to take a few dramatic pictures of dark gray, gathering clouds in front of a prominent foreground.

When the first clouds formed over the Southern Wine Route near Barbelroth, I could not have guessed what a huge super cell would develop within a few minutes.

The enormous charge of energy that is shot onto the earth, amazes us again and again. But thunderstorms are dangerous!

When the thunder got loud and the first raindrops fell, I changed my location without further ado.

The camera was placed in the automated time-lapse mode and I immediately got into the car.

Dramatic cloud formations, wild rain and glaring lightning bolts every second, finally contributed to some fascinating images.
